CHNCYxWHATEVR
Every photo was shot and every look was edited by CHNCY.VSL. WHATEVR packaged them into a set that works the way a car shooter actually edits.
@chncy.vsl on InstagramMade to make paint pop
Car photos live or die on the paint. Every look keeps color rich and reflections clean instead of flattening it like a generic filter.
Desktop and phone
.xmp presets for Lightroom Classic, Lightroom and Camera Raw, plus .dng files so the same looks live in Lightroom Mobile.
Three steps.
Import
Lightroom: Presets > + > Import Presets. On your phone, import the .dng files and save each as a preset. The READ ME walks you through every app.
Apply
Click a look. The collection shows up as its own group, numbered 001 to 004.
Set your white balance
The one step that matters. Dial Temp and Tint until the whites read clean and the paint looks like the real car.
- 4 looks: IGNITION, CERAMIC, REDLINE and TORQUE
- 4 desktop presets (.xmp) for Lightroom Classic, Lightroom and Photoshop Camera Raw
- 4 mobile presets (.dng) for Lightroom Mobile, iPhone and Android
- Install guide for every app
- Built on RAW files, works on JPEGs and phone photos too
- Personal and client use
Questions
The colors look off on my photo.
Set white balance first. Each look has its own white balance dialed in, and every scene is different. Adjust Temp and Tint after you apply it and that fixes it 9 times out of 10.
Does it work on JPEGs or phone photos?
Yes. RAW gives you the cleanest result and the most room to adjust, but JPEGs and phone shots work too. Expect a little more time on white balance and exposure.
The look is too strong.
Use the Amount slider under the preset in Lightroom or Camera Raw to dial it back.
My blue car went gray in TORQUE.
That's by design. TORQUE pulls blue hues out of the sky so everything turns gold, and blue paint gets caught in it too. To keep a blue car blue, mask the car (Masking > Objects, or a brush) and bring the saturation back up on that mask. The sky stays gold, the paint stays blue.
Can I use it in client work?
Yes. Personal and client projects are both fine. Just don't resell or share the preset files.
